Artist Statement

My compositions are maps for places that have never been. I intertwine algorithmic drawing with speculative logic, constructing ideational landscapes and architectonic figures.

Process

I begin with a proposition rather than an image: a site that could exist under a stated logic, and the constraints that would govern it. Generation is directed toward plotted line and modular component, and I run variants against the same schematic until its relations hold. Selecting, I look for the junction that could never be built yet still reads as reasoned. A work fails if an edge dissolves, if a figure softens out of its mapped articulation, or if it settles into atmosphere without stating its structure. Colour arrives last, and only where it marks intention.
