About Mapped Anatomy

A humanoid form emerges from superimposed grid compartments, its contours inscribed within a lattice of intersecting lines. Translucent zones seem to peel away, reminiscent of layered mylar or acetate, revealing a sense of depth and engineered transparency. Sparse numeric and typographic marks punctuate the composition, reinforcing an aura of structured inquiry and analytic tension. The palette plays with muted cobalt and ultramarine, creating a sensation of cool, speculative examination, as the boundaries between the figure and its compartmentalized environment blur.

From the collection — Points of Suspension explores how sharp divisions and engineered ruptures, layered with speculative schema, can evoke more than strict logic. Each work invites the viewer into a moment of poised anticipation—an experience where clarity, rather than closing possibilities, opens a sensation of unrealised potential. Here, precision becomes a site of perceptual tension, and invention is felt as well as seen.

Artist Statement

My compositions are maps for places that have never been. I intertwine algorithmic drawing with speculative logic, constructing ideational landscapes and architectonic figures.

Process

I begin with a proposition rather than an image: a site that could exist under a stated logic, and the constraints that would govern it. Generation is directed toward plotted line and modular component, and I run variants against the same schematic until its relations hold. Selecting, I look for the junction that could never be built yet still reads as reasoned. A work fails if an edge dissolves, if a figure softens out of its mapped articulation, or if it settles into atmosphere without stating its structure. Colour arrives last, and only where it marks intention.
